We were appointed to transform an underused basement in a Notting Hill townhouse into a fully integrated home spa.
As is typical with Notting Hill properties, the footprint was tight and spatially complex. The brief was to maximise the layout while accommodating a four-person sauna, a bespoke oval ice bath, a shower room, and a relaxation area complete with seating and a refreshment bar.
The sauna is fitted with a Thermo Aspen benching system and a 9kW Tulviki heater finished in white soapstone. A bespoke curved sauna door opens onto a matching curved bathroom door , a deliberate architectural detail that defines the space.
Adjacent to the sauna sits a fully integrated custom ice bath with concealed chiller and filtration, housed within bespoke joinery to maintain a clean finish.
Walnut runs consistently throughout the scheme, reflected in the custom bench seating and joinery that incorporates the refreshment area.
Given the proximity of the ice bath to the sauna, the space was engineered with dedicated ventilation to manage humidity and ensure long-term performance, as well as day-to-day comfort.
