In this luxury Kensington residence, our client had an unused loft space on the top floor that they wanted to transform into a private wellness retreat. The pitched ceiling presented a significant design challenge, but one that ultimately shaped the character of the space.
The gym is fitted with a multifunctional trainer by Watson, finished in a custom brown tone, alongside PENT dumbbells and kettlebells to complement the palette. Rather than using traditional rubber gym flooring, which we felt would detract from the atmosphere, we opted for a heavy-duty, high-quality brown rug to maintain a more refined, residential feel.
The walls are finished in microcement, which pairs beautifully with the charred blackened timber, creating a rich and elegant contrast.
The sauna is a true statement piece. Positioned with tinted privacy glass overlooking the gym, it features bespoke curved benching and a discreet, integrated ventilation system. Thermo Aspen was selected for the interior timber, and the space is completed with a Tulikivi soapstone sauna heater, perfectly complemented by the tiled floor.
